Everything depends on your accents in this day and age!! Many people don't believe in this statement but unfortunately it it true :( Having an accent has its advantages too as it gives people a first impression and it helps people to understand the emotions you are feeling.

The disappointing fact of having an accent is that it is harder to get a job as people judge you on your accent as that a persons first impression of you. I know this is not right but it's the truth!!

Loads of  people try to learn English as another language but they do not get very far in their studies even after years of trying to learn more knowledge of English by studying its grammar and the proper pronunciation of each individual word. Accents are basically made up of 3 major ingredients which are;

  •  Rhythm
  • Intonation
  • Timing

Survey shows that one in every five people change their accent to sound more posh when they are going for a job interview. From trying to sound more sophisticated at a job interview to wanting to impress on a date, the motives are many and widely varied. Around 6% have toned down their accent while 5% were proud enough of the way they spoke to have thickened it.

One's accent has no relation on skills. Quite frankly, an accent can be a most useful tool. A charming accent can open many doors, provided you speak the language accurately. That's the problem because many people tend to think one's accent and proficiency are similar, so if they can't hear what the person is saying, they say that him/her has bad English.

To some people accents dont bother them but to others it causes a big problem in daily life.
This is just wrong, dont you think??
